A free online retrospective board
Pick a format, share the link and your team writes cards at the same time, votes on what matters and leaves with action items that have an owner and a date. No account is needed to start, and guests join with a name.
Pick a format and start
Free. No account needed. Each format opens a board with its columns already set up.
- Good / Bad / ImproveThe simplest retrospective format: what went well, what didn't, and what to change next sprint.
- Mad / Sad / GladA retrospective that names feelings, not just facts. Useful when morale, not process, is the real issue.
- Start / Stop / ContinueA behaviour-focused format: what to start doing, stop doing and keep doing. Every card is already an action.
- 4LsLiked, Learned, Lacked, Longed for. A broader look at the sprint that leaves room for learning and unmet needs.
- SailboatA visual metaphor: what pushes you forward, what holds you back, and what risks lie ahead.
- DAKIDrop, Add, Keep, Improve. A lightweight way to tune your process without a long discussion.

A real retro in the app, with a made-up team: write, reveal, vote, then decide.
A retro in five steps
- 1
Set the stage
Say what the retro is for and how long it will take. Remind everyone it is about how the work went, not about people.
- 2
Write cards silently
Everyone adds cards at once. The board can hide teammates' cards while people write, so nobody copies the first voice.
- 3
Group and vote
Merge duplicates, then let each person spend their votes on the topics they most want to discuss.
- 4
Discuss the top cards
Timebox each one. For every problem, ask what would make it better and capture that as an action.
- 5
Commit to at most two actions
Give each an owner and a date, and read them back before you close.
What's on the board
- Cards you can write at the same time, with the option to keep them hidden until everyone is done.
- Votes, so the discussion goes to what the team cares about most rather than what was said last.
- A timer for the discussion, so the first topic doesn't eat the whole hour.
- A quick poll to rate the sprint, so you can see change from one retro to the next.
- Action items with an owner and a due date, collected on a summary page you can share read-only.
Why most retro actions die, and what helps
Teams don't usually fail at finding problems. They fail at the Monday after: the action has no owner, nobody sees it again, and the next retro surfaces the same complaint.
Three habits fix most of it. Commit to two actions or fewer. Give each one a named owner and a date. And open the next retro by going through the last one's actions before anything else.
When your retros live in a team, the board does that last part for you: the next retro shows the open actions from the one before, so "did we do what we said?" is the first question.
Questions
- Do I need an account to run a retro?
- No. Start a board, share the link, and your team joins as guests with just a name. You can save the board to a free account afterwards if you want to keep it.
- Are cards anonymous?
- Shared read-only summaries show cards and comments without their authors. The board also lets the facilitator hide cards while people write, which keeps the writing independent.
- Can we use a format other than the default?
- Yes. The six formats above each open a board with their own columns, and the template pages explain when each one fits.
- Does it work for remote and hybrid teams?
- Yes. It is a link and a browser. Everyone writes and votes from their own device, whether you are in a room together or not.
